Supporting JFJ

If you run a business, big or small, then why not partner with Jill’s Fundraising Journey, and help make a difference to families affected by a cancer diagnosis?

There are a number of different ways your business can support Jill’s Fundraising Journey, and see some benefits for your business too.

Tax-Free Donations

If you’re looking for a way to reduce your corporation tax bill this year, consider making a donation to Jill’s Fundraising Journey. Limited companies are entitled to corporation tax relief when they give to charity, and you can do this in a number of ways. You can make a financial donation, donate equipment or trading stock, give land or property, or give shares in another company.

If you do any of this, the value of your donation will be deducted from your total business profits before you pay tax, which means you pay less corporation tax! It’s a little-known rule, but it can make a huge difference to a small charity like us. Remember, for just £200 you could give a family affected by cancer a holiday away from it all, and a chance to make some treasured memories together.

Sponsorship

Jill’s Fundraising Journey holds a wide range of events over the calendar year, from Gala Balls to family fun days, craft fairs and more. For each of these, we give businesses the opportunity to sponsor the event, in return for your branding being present at the event. This may be in the form of promotional banners, logos on programmes or even stands at the event – depending on the type of event we are holding at that time.

Not only does sponsoring an event give your company exposure in the local community, you can also deduct the payment from your business profits before you pay tax, as they are treated as a business expense. So you get to market your business without worrying about the tax.

Employee Volunteering

Another option for corporate support is to volunteer, or allow your employees to volunteer their time during work hours. This can be done by temporarily transferring an employee to work for us (known as secondment), or allowing your employees to volunteer for our charity in work time.

If you volunteer employees, then you as a business can set the costs of that employee – including wages and business expenses – against your taxable profits as if they were still working for you. This allows you to support us while still reducing your corporation tax, and giving your employees a chance to give back to the community.

Charity of the Year

If your business runs a ‘Charity of the Year’ partnership, we would love to be considered as your charity partner. Charity of the Year partnerships are a great way to generate positive PR for your company, demonstrated your company values and commitment, encourages team building and provide great staff engagement opportunities. We can support you by creating marketing material to raise awareness, supporting you in organising fundraisers and events, and providing tools, tips and tricks throughout the year.

Of course, this list isn’t exclusive! There are a lot of different ways you can support Jill’s Fundraising Journey, and if you have an idea that could help us, we would love to hear from you. Just get in touch with one of our team members to discuss your idea and make it a reality.
